Anthology of African-American Poetry

If you happen to be in search of a generous anthology of African-American poetry and would also appreciate not spending a great deal of money on it, then Trouble the Water might be a good choice.  Trouble the Water: 250 Years of African-American Poetry, edited by Jerry W. Ward, Jr.,  was published my Mentor Books in 1997; the paperback volume contains over 500 pages of poetry, as well as brief biographical notes on the authors.
