Tacoma Art Museum

tamHave you been to the Tacoma Art Museum?  Have you been there LATELY?  This museum is a real treasure.  It’s a great size and is architecturally spectacular.  Want to know about some upcoming book-related events?

On Tuesday, Jan. 13 7:00pm author David Macaulay will be signing and discussing his newest release, The Way We Work:  Getting to Know the Amazing Human Body. I heard Macaulay discuss this book on NPR and it sounds like the perfect addition to the book collection of us non-science folks.  He began to write and research this book out of sheer curiosity about the human body.

Saturday, Feb. 7 from 1-3pm the museum will hold a workshop called “Many Ways to Make a Book.”  Preregistration is required as all materials are provided.

On Saturday, Feb. 28 from 9:30am-3:30am, Beverly Harding Buehler will discuss how artists and writers “develop characters, sequence and pace events, and create dramatic tension in their work.”

And don’t forget that admission and programs are free every third Thursday of the month from 10am to 8pm.
